Portable Laptop Ultrasound Offers Capabilities of Larger System

The Viamo laptop ultrasound system offers the same capabilities as larger cart-based systems that were previously unavailable on hand-carried systems.

The system provides the same level of imaging at bedside as the larger, more expensive cart-based systems. It is designed for a variety of patient exams, including general radiology, pediatric, emergency, OB/GYN and vascular. It offers color flow, a simple touch-screen interface that is programmable in panel or tablet modes, and interchanges Toshiba transducers.

The system received FDA clearance in February 2010.
